Our 2012 holiday beer order has arrived. Supplies of all these beers are limited and we will not be able to place another order until next year so don't wait too long to give them a try.

	Has been described as having “a brutal level of hoppiness, without being overly bitter.” Mikkeller has managed to give this beer and intense hop flavor without the usual bitterness. A perfect hint of ginger adds an amazing spice character.
Mikkeller Ris A La Male	Belgium	8%	375 ml	16-
	Save this one for dessert. Risalamande is a Danish Christmas dessert made using rice, vanilla, sugar, salt, cream/milk, cherries and almon extract. Mikkeller took that recipe and decided to brew it into a distinctively sweet cherry beer with a nice tartness for balance. Nutty and vanilla undertones finish off this very unique beer.

	An 11% Belgian quadruple style ale. Delicious with big flavors of cookie dough, chocolate, figs and spice. The addition of actual cocoa powder makes this one incredibly special.

	The dedicated guys at Mikkeller have simply outdone themselves with this holiday version of a Baltic Porter. Earthy and hoppy with hits of coffee, dark fruit and a full roastiness. A great example of the new hoppy Belgian artisan beer movement.

	A deep blonde abbey-style trippel that has been aged for 8 months over different stone fruits. Once you try one you too will say “Tsjeeses, what a beer”. “Don't f**k with the Tsjeeses.” --Coen Brothers, Big Lebowski
Struise Tsjeeses Reserva	Belgium	10.0%	330 ml	16-
	Apparently Struise decided to f**k with the Tsjeeses. They took 4 barrels of Tsjeeses and gave it a 6 month aging on oak. A bit rough when we first received it in 2011, we have aged a bunch of it and it has really come together.
Thiriez Bière de Noël	France	6.0%	750 ml	16-
	A beautiful red-gold wheat beer, with quite subtle all-spice and orange peel added. A slightly tart and quite refreshing festive brew. Champagne for the true beer lover.
Serafijn Christmas Angel	Belgium	8.0%	750 ml	22-
	A tiny Belgian brewery wedged into a crowded garage on a quiet street in a small Flemish town. Started by an ex music teacher, Achilles Van de Moer, makes simple, honest beers and takes as his symbol the Seraph, a six-winged high angel of heaven. A hearty amber brew, well-balanced and warming with just the right spirit.

Ridgeway Holiday Beers

The Ridgeway Brewery is named for the oldest road in the British Isles and Europe, running nearly 100 miles, past that other ancient landmark, Stonehenge. It is now only passable by foot.

	Strong porter. The original name for porter was Entire Butt, meaning the whole barrel.

	Liquid consolation for a depressing holiday. Considering how bad you have been, this 8% bittersweet chocolate stout is more than you deserve.

	A golden amber, hop-accented, English “winter warmer” brewed without spices.
Reindeer Droppings	UK	6.0%	500 ml	10-
	Falling from the sky like little bombs of flavour come the Reindeer Droppings! Each one is sweet like California raisins, but bitter and pungent like a freshly peeled grapefruit, lip-smackingly tasty...then 'pow!' it's gone.

One of our most requested breweries is Russian River. Their Pliny the Elder has perhaps the strongest cult following of any U.S. microbrew. Well, if we all held our breath as long as possible most of us would probably pass away before we see Pliny in Utah. However, one of the great things to come out of the current trend of collaboration beers is that we are seeing beers from breweries we never thought we'd see.

This time it is a collaboration between Russian River and Sierra Nevada called Brux. Their description of it as a "Domesticated Wild Ale" is spot on. It is most certainly an American interpretation of Belgian Wild Ales. An amazingly balanced Belgian style farmhouse beer brewed using Brettanomyces but with a clear American microbrew influence. Unlike many other "Brett" beers, this one is without the sourness from Lactobacillus. At the current time the Brett is nicely mellow but we expect it to develop even more in the bottle over the next few months.
