Tenaya Creek in the house

We just received a shipment of beers from the great Las Vegas brewery Tenaya Creek.  Fortunately for us, it is a total myth that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

Tenaya Creek was established in 1999 by ex Utahn and Uinta brewer Tim Etter with his brothers and sisters. In early 1993, during his college days at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Tim's roommate introduced him to the art of making beer. From a hobby in the tiny apartment, a full time career started to blossom. Attendance at UC Davis in Northern California studying Fermentation Science was next, then back to Salt Lake City to work with a new start-up: Uinta Brewing Company. After enjoying  tremendous success at Uinta, it was time to break away and create Teneya Creek Brewery.

Tim's beers are amazing and while he left Utah in order to produce them luckly for us he is bringing them back up for us to enjoy.  I mean that literally as well, this order of ours was driven up to SLC by none other than Tim himself.

Hop Ride India Pale AleHop Ride India Pale AleHop Ride India Pale Ale (7.2% alc/vol)…This beer is brewed using 2-Row, wheat, Vienna and caramel malts and is hopped with Summit’s for bittering and flavor and Ahtanum for aroma. This IPA was also dry-hopped,  with Ahtanum, Challenger and Chinook hops. Tenaya Creek's IPA is an American style IPA that has a high amount of bitterness but is well balanced and very drinkable.

Calico BrownCalico Brown

Calico Brown Ale (5.6% alc/vol)…Light brown in color, this ale is quite malty while the hop flavor is generally lower than that of the other ales. Don't let that leave you thinking that this beer is boring. On the contrary, this is a great brown ale. Perfect for these cooling autumn nights.

Tandem Double IPATandem Double IPA

Tandem Double India Pale Ale limited release (9.0% alc/vol) Didn't get enough hops or alcohol from Tenaya Creek's IPA? Give this Double IPA a try.  While definately agressively hopped, this DIPA is incredibly drinkable and a superb addition to our ever growing list of double ipa's.
