Frequenty Asked Questions

Can I bring my kids?

Only if they are 21 years old or order.

Why? Utah liquor laws are why. In order to have a standard restaurant license you must make 70% of your sales from food. With our extensive beer list we cannot maintain those levels. The only license we can get is a bar license which requires everyone in the building to be over 21. That said, sometimes it's nice to eat in a restaurant without any kids.

But my kid is just a Baby?!?!

Yes we know your baby isn't going to have a beer. Yes we agree that the laws are stupid. Yes I wish my own 18 year old could join us at the bar but it isn't going to happen. Contact our legislature and let them know your feelings.

Can I make a reservation?

We operate on a strictly first come first serve basis. However, if you have a large party (more than 10 people) we do appreciate a heads up notice. You can call and let us know at 801-961-8400.

Where can I park?

We have our own parking on the south side of our building and lease spaces in the next lot south. If both lots are full there is street parking available up and down 6th and 7th south in addition to State Street parking.

Is wine and liquor available or do you only sell beer?

We have a full bar including a great cocktail menu featuring classic New Orleans cocktails as well as traditional and modern cocktails.

What delivery services do you use?

None.

Seriously?...Why?

All the delivery services charge the restaurants about a 30% commission. 30% is a lot. Combined with food and staffing costs, that extra 30% means we are basically losing money on every delivery sale. They argue that all the delivery sales are bonus sales and we shouldn't count payroll and other expenses in sales through them. I say to them piss off and come back when you only want 10%.

The Washington Post wrote a great article on how bad delivery apps are for restaurants. Give it a read.

But I've ordered your food from (Insert Delivery Company Here).

Somehow, even without being paying customers of theirs, we are still getting orders from them. We greatly appreciate the orders as well. That said, I have no idea how it is working and why sometimes people can find us on there and sometimes they can't. Since we refuse to pay the commission, it's out of our control.
